Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City Trailer Drops

Resident Evil: Welcome

The first trailer for Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City has just dropped and it looks a lot more accurate to the source material than the original Resident Evil starring Milla Jovovich ever was.

You can check out our review of Monster Hunter here, which was also directed by Paul W.S Anderson and starred Milla Jovovich. Johannes Roberts will write and direct the new movie.

You can see the first trailer for the new Resident Evil movie below.

The plot of the film will also closely follow that of the first two games, with the official synopsis reading:

“In RESIDENT EVIL: WELCOME TO RACCOON CITY, once the booming home of pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corporation, Raccoon City is now a dying Midwestern town. The company’s exodus left the city a wasteland…with great evil brewing below the surface. When that evil is unleashed, a group of survivors must work together to uncover the truth behind Umbrella and make it through the night.”

In the trailer, we see this film’s versions of iconic characters in motion. These include; Claire Redfield played by Kaya Scodelario, Chris Redfield played by Robbie Amell, Leon S. Kennedy played by Avan Jogia, Albert Wesker played Tom Hopper, Richard Aiken played by Chad Rook, Jill Valentine played by Hannah John-Kamen and Lisa Trevor played by Marina Mazepa.

Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City was delayed earlier in the year from September 3rd to November 24th. However, that is sadly only the US releasedate and it won’t drop in the UK until the 3rd of December.

Check out the first screens released from the upcoming movie here.

What do you make of this trailer? Are you happy with how faithful it looks to be to the games iconic cutscenes? Or does the ropey CGI put you off? Let us know in the comments below.
